Hills Valley Coalition

Our mission is to educate and inform the community-at-large about how to promote a healthy, safe and substance-free environment that encourages the development of a positive lifestyle for our youth and reduces at-risk teen behavior.

The organization was established 16 years ago with the school districts’ partnership with law enforcement, municipal leaders and residents to unify our prevention efforts and community resources in Hillsdale, River Vale, Montvale, and Woodcliff Lake.

We have maximized our workforce and productivity by uniting the 4 town Municipal Alliances as one Hills/Valley Coalition

Montvale Senior Club

Montvale Senior Club

The Senior/Community Center is located at One Memorial Drive in Montvale.

The Montvale Senior Club, is open to current and former Montvale residents who are at least 55 years of age.  Meetings are held there twice a month, on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 11:30-2:30.  The first meeting is the monthly Business Meeting, and a Social Meeting is held on the third Thursday of each month (except for July and August, when there are no meetings).  At these meetings we either have guest speakers talk about topics of interest to seniors, or we provide light entertainment.

Members who attend six or more Business meetings in the prior twelve month period get to enjoy three elegant lunches every year at an off site facility.  Those members who have not attended the required number of meetings are welcome, but they must pay for their meals until they reach the required six meetings.  In addition to these three off site lunches members have two themed luncheons on site, one for Valentine's Day, and one for Mother's Day.  The Montvale PBA also treats the club members to an annual Harvest luncheon where they serve the meal.

The club also offers numerous day and overnight trips to places of interest.  These trips are first offered to club members and then opened up to other senior clubs in the area and the public as space permits.

We also have activities such as a canasta group that meets weekly, a book discussion club that meets monthly, a monthly Pizza and Bingo evening, a fitness room that is open three mornings a week, (M,W,F) from 8:00 AM to noon, a Mah Jong group that meets twice weekly, and a Chair Exercise program that meets three days a week, (M,W,F), plus other activities of interest.

Membership dues are $10.00 per year, and we each contribute $2 at each meeting for our refreshments. Sandwiches are served at our Business meeting, and pastries are served at the Social meeting; coffee and tea are available at both.

Come down and meet us at one of our meetings where you get to meet new friends and possibly meet old friends again.  If you have any questions please email montvaleseniors@montvaleboro.orgor call us at (201) 391-6467.  If there is no answer at that time please leave a message including your name and telephone number and we will get back to you.
