The Mayor’s Wellness Walk, part of a Paint the Town Pink initiative in conjunction with the Board of Health would like to invite Montvale residents, their friends & our corporate neighbors on May 20, 2017 at 10:00AM to take a walk around corporate park.

Montvale Recreation welcomes children with intellectual and developmental disabilities to join a fun-filled 4-week program focused on bringing joy to each child through sensory-based activities. Twice a week, youngsters will craft art projects, participate in various creative movement activities and have a lesson or story to go along with. At the conclusion of this four-week program, students can choose to participate in a showcase of their work. A parent, guardian or aide of each child must be present at each class, but is not required to assist with activities.

Heroin and opioid overdoses continue to rise across the country and across this state, including in Bergen County. In 2016, we saw 308 reported overdoses, which represented a 6.9% increase from 2015. This increase is attributable to both an overall rise in the number of individuals abusing heroin and opioids and to an increase in the potency of the heroin being sold in this state, which is often mixed or substituted with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid up to 50 times more powerful than heroin.
