The Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (R.A.C.E.S.) was created by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Working in conjunction with the local Office of Emergency Management, members of R.A.C.E.S. assist with radio communications in the event of local, regional or national civil emergencies such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods or wildfires. If you are a licensed amateur radio operator or would like to learn more about amateur/ham radio, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact our area. CERT trains residents in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and basic first aid. CERT training prepares you to take care of your family, your neighbors, and then the community. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an emergency/disaster. If you are interested in learning more about CERT, please send an email to: email@example.com
