Update on GSP Ramp Closure - Fall 2024
Around the September 2024 timeframe, Sanzari will begin construction work on the bridges where the Garden State Parkway (GSP) goes over Grand Ave and Summit Ave. The south bound entrance to the GSP (from Grand Ave) will be CLOSED for a long duration. There will be detours set up, and southbound traffic will need to access the GSP in Woodcliff Lake or Washington Township. During this time, there will also be lane closures on Grand and Summit. This will obviously cause an increase of traffic in the area but this work must be done to ensure the safety of the bridges that go over Grand and Summit. During the construction work, residents will be encouraged to avoid the area or use mass transit if possible. The Borough of Montvale, including MPD, MFD and OEM, is in direct communication with the State of NJ Turnpike Authority, Boswell Engineering and Sanzari and is advocating for the shortest possible disruption for residents.
The project has been APPROVED AND AWARDED by the NJ Turnpike Authority, and preparations are already underway. The Borough of Montvale will send multiple communications (via email, Facebook, our website and reverse 911) to keep everyone informed on what is happening as we get closer to work starting in September of this year.
